therapy for the people pleasers and perfectionists
My clients struggle as you do. Despite being resilient, successful, and highly empathetic, being able to feel joy in the process is really hard.
When they first come in, they are exhausted from the constant navigation of figuring out if people are mad at them, the isolation of always working and “being on”, and disconnection from their body. They feel starved for connection, yet have such a hard time trusting anyone enough to let them in. They don’t trust others, and especially don’t trust themselves.
They worry that they will never feel like they can rest, fall in love with the stillness of life, or let anyone else in to help them. Anxiety and depression are at an all-time high.
They feel like they must be incapable of having a healthy relationship - they are always being called “too needy” or “too controlling”. They feel like they attract problematic partners, despite being really good at reading people.
Their consistent feeling of loneliness and fear of rejection gets in the way of the life they want in so many ways. They aren’t the kind of vibrant, care-free person, or parent, they want to be. They feel like they’re failing to make deep, meaningful relationships and making friends as an adult. And their confidence is tanking.
Before they came to see me, they feared that the lingering depression or anxiety was just a part of their life now. They worried they would never truly feel connected to their bodies and other people. And they were pretty certain they were never going to shake this loneliness. The disconnection was making them even more distant and isolated.
Like my clients, you deserve to put your healing first without guilt. You deserve connection, love, and attunement.
Feeling reassured that you are capable of a healthy relationship - with others and your own body - is not out of reach.
If you want to learn how to feel at home in your body, learn to listen and trust your gut in this wild motherhood journey, and feel when something just feels right, I’d love to help you get there.
You are worthy of healing, joy, and safety.
